Re-Gripping Service

Expert Grip Fitting at Our Norwich Workshop

Re-Gripping Service

Your grip is the only point of contact between you and your bat — and the cheapest upgrade you can make to your blade. Choose from our range of grips in store and we’ll fit it for you on the spot for just £7, plus the cost of your chosen grip. No tools, no fuss, no waiting around.

How It Works

Pop into our showroom at 18C Wendover Road, Rackheath, Norwich NR13 6LH with your bat. Browse our wall of grips, pick the pattern, thickness, and colour you want, and we’ll fit it for you while you wait — the whole job takes about two minutes.

We strip the old grip, slide a grip cone over the handle, roll your new grip on cleanly, and smooth out any air bubbles. You’ll walk out of the door with a bat that feels brand new in your hands. Fitting is just £7, plus the cost of your chosen grip.

  • Walk in during showroom hours: Tue–Fri 9–5, Sat 10–3
  • Grip fitting only £7, plus the cost of your chosen grip
  • Octopus, chevron, scale, and oval patterns to choose from
  • Slim to extra-cushioned thicknesses available
  • All bats welcome, regardless of where you bought them

Re-Gripping FAQ

Everything you need to know about freshening up your bat handle.

Fitting is £7, plus the cost of the grip itself. Most replacement grips start at just a few pounds, with premium and patterned options available for those after a particular feel or look. We’ll always show you the total before fitting — no surprises.

About two minutes once we’ve picked your grip. There’s no need to leave your bat with us — in most cases you’ll be in and out within ten minutes, including time to choose the grip you want.

No — just walk in during showroom hours (Tue–Fri 9–5, Sat 10–3). If you want to make sure someone is free to talk through the options with you, give us a call on +44 1603 650050 before you visit.

As a rule of thumb, replace your grip at the start of each season or whenever it starts to feel smooth, shiny, or slippery. Heavy net users may need to re-grip mid-season. It’s one of the cheapest upgrades you can make to your bat and it makes an immediate difference to feel and control.

It comes down to personal preference. Octopus grips have a tacky, high-friction surface for a secure hold. Chevron patterns balance grip and cushioning. Scale grips are durable with a consistent feel. Thinner grips give you a closer feel to the handle; thicker, cushioned grips absorb more vibration. Bring it up with us in store and we’ll talk you through what suits your hands and playing style.

Yes. Our re-gripping service is available for any bat, from any brand, purchased anywhere. Walk in with it and we’ll sort you out.

Why a Fresh Grip Matters

A worn or slippery grip is one of the most common causes of poor stroke play, mishit shots, and stinging hands. The grip directly influences how the blade feels at the moment of impact, how much vibration travels into your hands, and how confidently you can commit to your shot.

For just a few pounds and a couple of minutes of your time, a fresh grip can transform the feel of a bat that’s otherwise in great shape. It’s the cheapest performance upgrade in cricket — and one of the most overlooked.

  • Improved control and feel at the point of impact
  • Reduced vibration through the handle
  • A more secure hold for confident strokeplay
  • A simple, low-cost way to refresh an older bat
